I know, I know. Yet another group, another blog, another form of "noise" to distract us in our already-busy lives. Seriously ... I can feel the skepticism oozing through the screen. I know there are several types of these blogs and groups floating around the web. But, I assure you, Clarissa and I (Megan) want THIS one to stand out, to be beneficial to not only you, but our audience. Because, after all, those who book us, buy from us, are the ones who matter, the ones who keep us afloat.
We want the Facebook forum to be a great form of networking and a sound board for those of us in the photography and vendor industry, so yes, that may be a little similar to other groups in Facebookland. But, via this blog, what we would love to do is feature as many Ohio artists and photographers as possible, spreading the word to each and every person in Ohio who values photos and the handcrafted items we lovingly create.
In the past, our industries have been filled with fierce competition, making it hard for each of us to coexist in our communities. While we all agree competition is healthy, negativity does not breed success. Let's change this. Let's start a movement, no matter how big, to show everyone how we can all work together, that we can be successful in each of our towns, with each of our client base, and be supportive of one another. After all, we all have our own style, so why not give our fellow Ohio photographers and vendors a pat on the back, a helping hand and a kind word every now and then?
Every other week, we would love to feature an artist or photographer. We will pick a theme for that time period and ask that everyone submits a photo of their interpretation of the theme. Vendors, don't worry: We will help you with alternate themes if the themes seem to be a little bit of a stretch. From there, Clarissa and I will choose an artist/photographer to feature. That person will receive an interview on this blog, and the chance to show off their work. Clarissa and I will make it our priority to get your feature as much exposure as possible. We want YOU to do great things!
